MAIN HANGAR

The main hangar situated near the entrance, has a collection of vintage aircraft used by the SLAF since its inception. Some of these flying legends have been fully restored to flying condition by a dedicated team of engineers and technicians. The venerable De Havilland Tiger Moth and the Chipmunk TMK.10 are two of the many exhibits. Also included in the collection are two light aircraft manufactured by S.L.A.F. engineers.

Four more hangars, each housing aircraft, picture galleries, vehicles, equipment, arms, ordinance, uniforms and even a mini-cinema make up the rest of the museum's indoor attractions. The car used by the former Commander Air Chief Marshal Harry Goonetileke and the armored limousine used by the former President His Excellency R. Premadasa are two exhibits which have a special historic importance.


OUTDOOR EXHIBITS

A number of aircraft, vehicles and equipment are positioned on a professionally landscaped area adjacent to the hangar complex. The LTTE aircraft shot down by the SLAF, several wreckage of vehicles and a 130mm howitzer which was destroyed by SLAF pilots are also displayed. They are a testimony to the dedication and surgical precision of the Sri Lanka Air Force.


HANGAR NO .01

Hangar No.1 Houses photos depicting the past and present of the SLAF and the aviation history of Sri Lanka.


HANGAR NO .02

Hangar No.2 houses general exhibits which have seen utility in the SLAF during the past years.The linik simulator model right flyer air deffence guns ands various flags of Air Force units can be seen in this hangar.


HANGAR NO .03

Different types of vehicles used within Sri Lanka Air Force from the days of Royal Air Force are displayed in this hangar.The car used by the former Commander Air Chief Marshal Harry Goonetileke and the bullet proof car used by the former President His Excellency R. Premadasa are two such exhibits which have a special historic importance.


THE KNOWLEDGE HUB

The Command Research Library “The Knowledge Hub” was declared open by the former Commander Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama on 11 March 2013. It is a unique place for all knowledge hunters in aviation, where you find some old collection of books on aircraft operated by Sri Lanka Air Force & Royal Ceylon Air Force.
